This new rule (from Feb 2026) is intended to create a fair, predictable, and gradual transition for both graduates and current students. If we do not find notable challenge during the first trial, this policy applies to all current and future NDS graduates.

Effective immediately, NDS will follow the 2/2/2 rule below

  1. Two weeks of digital access after graduation – Graduates may retain access to Dropbox, Notion, and other digital resources for two weeks after graduation for the purpose of organizing and backing up project materials. After this period, access will be terminated due to NDA and research security considerations. #general and #random channels on Slack are exceptions.
  2. Up to two months of lab entry after graduation – Master’s and PhD graduates who are completing their thesis or dissertation may be granted lab entry for up to two additional months following graduation.
  3. Maximum two weekdays per week in the lab – During this two-month period, lab use is limited to two weekdays per week. Weekend access remains relatively flexible.

이 기준은 2026년 2월부터 도입되었으며, 석사 및 박사 졸업생 전체를 대상으로 합니다. 졸업 이후 취업 준비나 논문 마무리 과정이 쉽지 않다는 점을 충분히 이해합니다. 동시에 디자인학과 연구실 공간이 매우 협소하고, 현재 재학생 좌석과 핫데스크도 빠듯한 상황이라는 점을 고려하지 않을 수 없었습니다. 그래서 모두에게 공정하고 예측 가능한 기준이 필요하다고 판단했습니다.

또한 졸업은 새로운 단계로 이동하는 전환점이라고 보고, 무기한 연구실 상주를 허용하기보다는 합리적인 완충 기간을 제공하는 방향으로 기준을 마련했습니다. 다만 연구실과 공식 프로젝트 계약을 체결한 졸업생은 예외로 합니다.

NDS 2/2/2 시범 규칙

  1. 졸업 후 2주간 디지털 자원 유지 – 졸업 후 2주 동안 Dropbox, Notion 등 기존 접근 권한을 유지하여 자료 정리를 할 수 있습니다. 이후에는 연구보안 및 NDA 리스크를 고려해 접근 권한이 종료됩니다.
  2. 졸업 후 최대 2개월 추가 출입 허용 – 논문을 마무리 중인 석/박사 졸업생은 졸업 후 최대 2개월까지 연구실 출입이 가능합니다.
  3. 주중 주 2일 이내 이용 – 이 기간 동안 연구실 이용은 주중 기준 주 2일 이내로 제한됩니다. 주말 이용은 비교적 자유롭게 허용됩니다.
